Funeral services for Kevin will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where the family will have a time sharing. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Kevin’s name to his family. To honor Kevin’s wishes, the family has asked everyone to wear any camo attire and drive their motorcycles.
Kevin C. Burns was born on September 30, 1955 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Sidney Burns and Lee Haupert. He was a graduate from Marshalltown High School. Kevin was currently dating his longtime girlfriend Sharon, at the time of his passing. He dedicated his working career to the UPS Freight, where he later retired. Kevin had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and sitting on his patio watching NASCAR.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Kelsey Burns, Shelby Burns and Ian Burns; two grandchildren: Tristan and Tucker Burns; father: Sidney Burns; mother: Lee Haupert siblings: Kelly (Marcus) Brinkhus; one niece: Jenny; and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by one daughter: Keely Ann; step-father: Wendell Haupert and one nephew: Casey Nicholas and other family.
