There is one large tombstone engraved with the names Barbara S. Metz who died in 1948; and John Metz who died in 1911. Bernard and Anna had a lot with 6 plots. There is a white post identifying the lot numbers. The lot is over close to the brick house located beside the cemetery.

There are six people buried in the lot (Block 11, Lot 12). Anna Metz Zimmer is in Grave 7, Bernard Zimmer in grave 8, Helen Zimmer in grave 9, John Metz in grave 1, Barbara Metz in grave 2 and Wilma Kasten in grave 3.

Per the 1910 census, Anna was a seamstress in the overall factory.

Death of Mrs. Annie Zimmer
Mrs. Annie Zimmer died this morning, September 28, 1918, at her home on Highland Avenue at 6 o’clock a.m., aged 30 years. Her husband died on June 3rd. She leaves three children, her mother, Mrs. Barbara Metz, three sisters and two brothers. Her sisters are Mrs. J. (Mary Catherine) Hill, Mrs. Johanna MacDonald and H. (Katherine) Kasten. Her two brothers are in foreign lands, Fritz Metz, on the front in France; and John, a glass blower in Australia. The funeral will be held from the St. Patrick’s Church Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. The burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Alton, Illinois.
Note: Bernard and Anna Zimmer do not have a tombstone.
