Born in Dysart, Fife, Scotland, May 10, 1764, he came to New York with his parents, Robert and Helen Clark, in 1771. He married Isabel Campbell, daughter of William, about 1791. Thomas graduated from an allopathic school in New York and engaged in the practice of medicine in Argyle, NY. About 1818, he moved with his family to Caledonia, Genesse, New York (today Livingston Co.). About 1821, the family moved from New York to Monroe County, Michigan Territory, in search of land for their sons. They traveled to Buffalo, NY and then sailed by ship to Monroe. The family settled first @ Raisinville, Monroe, MI, where Thomas died in 1824, aged 60 years, 3 months, 16 days. Following his death, the rest of his family moved to Blissfield, Lenawee County, MI about 1827.
Thomas' grave was moved from Kedzie Grove to Deerfield in 1925.
