He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was imprisoned in Stalag Luft 1, North 2 Compound, Barracks 2, Room 9.
He married Doris "Dolly" L. Dolezal on June 28, 1947, in Wahoo, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Gregory D., George F., and Thomas J., sisters, Marguerite Burton, Vivian Reynolds and Lillian Roberts, a brother, George W. and two grandchildren.
