Big Timber Pioneer, March 25, 1971
Last rites were conducted Saturday, March 20 from the Lowry Funeral Home for Lloyd Beer, 67, who died unexpectedly Wednesday morning from a heart attack.
Lloyd Beer was born March 9, 1904, at Mystic, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Beer. He came to Montana at the age of sixteen and worked on various ranches. He married Louise Reinlasoder on September 15, 1930, at Kalispell, Montana. He bought a sheep ranch in Toole County in 1930, selling it in 1947 and moving into Kalispell. He bought the Lester Work ranch at McLeod in 1950, operating it until the fall of 1966, when he retired and moved into Big Timber to reside, serving as manager of his son's firm, Big Timber Truck Line.
Survivors include his widow, and a son, Dennis L. Beer, both of Big Timber; a daughter, Mrs. James (Corale) Brierley of Socorro, New Mexico; a brother, Joe Beer, Centerville, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. James ( Hazel) Felkner, Centerville, Iowa and four granchildren of Big Timber.
