39th Regiment of Virginia Cavalry - he was detailed as a wagon master. He worked with Captain Glaize of the Quartermasters. He was captured in North Carolina in 1865 and sent to Louisville, Kentucky, then Camp Chase, Ohio. He was kept as a prisoner of war until released on 1 May 1865 at Nashville.
