June Chambers, 93, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born June 23, 1924 in Rustin, LA to parents, Rosa D. & Henry S. Loyd. June grew up in Palestine, TX, where she graduated from Palestine High School in 1942. She moved to Houston, TX in 1944. There she met her husband of 40 years, C.B. (Bob) Chambers, and they were married in 1947. She was a long time member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, and remained in the Houston area the rest of her adult life. June is preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her son, Mike Chambers & wife Sandra; siblings, Joyce Schumacher, and Jack Loyd & wife June; grandchildren, Brian Chambers & wife Leah, and Tara Denny; great-grandchildren, Helen June Chambers, and Henry Michael Chambers; niece and nephews, Bruce Schumacher & wife Sandy, Steven Schumacher, and Sandra Larsen. A visitation will be held at Heights Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5-8 PM. A private family interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in June’s name to the HSLR Calf Scramble Scholarship Fund. To donate, please contact Kim Wilson at 832-667-1138. The family would like to thank June’s caregivers, Ester Stewart and Joyce Manley, for the exceptional care that they provided in the last 3 years of June’s life.
