DEATH OF THOMAS C. BUTTS
Union and community were terribly shocked Wednesday afternoon when the news spread that Thomas C. Butts, a well known suburban merchant and farmer, had fallen dead at his home at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. He was found dead at his barn.
Mr. Butts was about sixty five years old and was highly respected as a citizen and neighbor.
He leaves three sisters, Miss Carrie Butts, Union; Mrs. J. M. Webb, Decatur; Mrs. Cora Harmon, Stonewall; five brothers, John Butts, Decatur; Will Butts, Waynesboro; Ed, George and Arthur of Union, and his widow, of Union.
The remains will he laid to rest in the city cemetery of Union today or Friday.
Ton Butts was a man of remarkable talent and had many friends who will miss him. The Appeal extends its sympathy to bereaved widow and brother and sisters.
