Roy Dean DeBoy age 75, of Marion passed away Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Marion General Hospital.

Roy was born in Portland, Indiana on August 19, 1944 the son of Gerald and Madonna (Bailey) DeBoy.

He was married June 4, 1966 to Sue Laux who survives.

He was a 1962 Portland High School graduate. He served with the US Navy from 1962-1965. He retired from a local factory in Marion after 30 years of service.

Roy was affectionately know as Granddad and loved spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and loved NASCAR, Dale Jarrett was his favorite. He attended the Brickyard several times and always joked that Dale would wave to him when he passed. He was a Notre Dame fan, both basketball and football. He was a baseball card collector, a hobby he enjoyed and shared with his son. He was a honorary bingo caller at the Laux family Christmas. He was a good guy that brought many smiles and laughs to all around him.

He fought a long battle against ALS. In this battle he demonstrated his strong character and his love for his family. He was so strong and brave and made his family so proud. At the end of his battle we were gifted a special time to share memories that we would cherish. He would do anything for his family. His main concern was to make sure his family was cared for, especially his wife, Sue.

He is survived by his wife Sue, one daughter Debra Goodman (husband Bart) of Marion and one son Scott DeBoy (wife Jennifer) of Marion.
