Our Mother, Geneva Kemp departed this life on June 1, 2018 peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on July 4, 1929 to Cornelius Johnston and Henretta (Stephenson) Johnston.

After the early death of her parents, she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Easter and Iverson Henderson. On April 19, 1947 she married Joseph "Joe" Kemp. To their union, 12 children were born. She was a loving wife and mother who instilled Christian values in her children.

Geneva accepted Christ at an early age. Her faith grew and matured at the Sardis Baptist Church in Wiley, Oklahoma. At Sardis, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as "Mother of the Church"

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Edgar and Gary Kemp and a grandson, Kevin Riser.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Charlie Kemp, JoAnn Boylan, Rosielee Pickens, Mary Richardson, Allene Alexander, Willard Kemp, Carl Kemp, Cherry Coats, Kathy Kemp, and Regina Kemp; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a. m. in the First Baptist Church at Main and Byrd Streets in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Pastor Dale Perry will officiate the service with assistance from Pastor Tommy Brown. Interment will follow in the Hollow Springs Cemetery in Fillmore, Oklahoma.
