Loretta A. Harris, 74, of Grottoes, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Sunnyside. Loretta was born Aug. 30, 1943, and was a daughter of the late Roy H. and Maude Hasler Armentrout of Keezletown, Va.

On Dec. 19, 1970, Loretta was married to Gene Arnold Harris, who preceded her in death Dec. 17, 2002. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Roy J. Armentrout, sister, Doris A. Wishard, and nephew, Terry Wishard.

Loretta was a member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Montevideo High School, Mary Baldwin College and received her Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Loretta was employed by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services working in Fairfax County Public Schools with students with special needs. She was a former member of the Town Council of Grottoes, Grottoes Ruritan Club, and a fan of the Seattle Seahawks.

Loretta leaves behind two sisters, a brother,and a sister-in-law. Also surviving are 4 nieces, and 3 nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill and Cindy Martin and Dorsey Hiltenbrand.
