Death of Mrs. Geerdes

Mrs. Geerdes, the wife of Rev. Geerdes who left here for Illinois three years ago died at Burlington Sunday after a short sickness. The remains were sent to Cleves Monday and taken to the home of Mrs. Geerdes parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Beving four miles northwest of Wellsburg. Funeral services were held at Smith's church Thursday after which the remains were laid in the Smith church cemetery.

Mrs. Geerdes was about thirty years old. She was born in this county and lived here up to the time of her marriage three years ago when she went with her husband to Illinois. She was a woman possessing rare motherly qualities and a true Christian character. Her husband had but recently received a call to a church at Lennox, South Dakota and to that place they were preparing to move. She is survived by a husband, two children, one two years old and the other but four days, a father and mother and eight brothers and sisters.
