David "Bootie" Womack born May 24, 1936 in Scottsboro, Alabama took his Heavenly Flight on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 1:17 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eloise Venable Womack, his soulmate and the love of his life. "Bootie" proudly served our country from 1955-1958 as a Tank Driver for the United States Army. He spent time at Ft. Rylee, Kansas and finished his Military Service in Germany. He was a strong man of God who served as a church deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. He was always eager to share his love of God with those he met and never met a stranger! Bootie was an avid gardener, a hard working man, a loving father to his own children and many who were not. He had a big heart filled with love to for all. He was very proud of his gardens and loved sharing the bounty with others. Mowing was therapy for him and he spent countless hours doing it. Over the last couple of years he spent time sitting in the sunshine watching his gardens grow and enjoying the beauty of his "Little Farm". He is survived by his son, LaBron (Angie) Womack, Daughters, Angel (Wayne) Stubblefield, Melody (Jim) Whitney, Amanda (Zackie) Gant, Grandchildren, Keith Whitney (Fiancee - Kelley Brennan), Amber (Shane) Cravens, Ashley (Michael) Myers, Jordan Sisk, Brentley Sisk, Lucas Gant, Zoe Gant and Expected Great Grandson, Geddy James Myers, sisters, Bobbie (David) Paradise and Christine Stirling. Special Friends: David Smith and Howard "Putt" Putnam. And a multitued of friends and family who love him dearly. Mr. Womack is proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Ruth Womack, brothers, Gordan Womack and Claude Womack Jr., sisters, Annie Hastings and Gertie Pace, precious neighbors and friends John & Nanny Finney. Special thanks to Dr. Rajesh Patel & Staff, Dr. Charles Bradford & Staff and Alacare Hospice for their compassionate care. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 and the funeral will be 11 AM Wednesday May 30, 2018 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
