Mr. Truman G. Whitis, age 85, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Heritage Manor Healthcare in Mayfield, KY.
He liked to hunt and train hunting dogs. Mr. Whitis was a big talker to young and old alike. He was a retired employee of General Tire with 30 years of service in maintenance.
Mr. Whitis is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Ann Sholar Whitis; one daughter-in-law, Eva Whitis of Mayfield, KY; two grandchildren, Sarah Whitis of Mayfield, KY and Joseph (Crystal) Whitis of Indianapolis, IN; two great grandchildren, Kyla and Cody Whitis; and two sisters, Jane Ann Alton of Reidland, KY and Ladonna Nelson of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Lynn Whitis; six brothers, Brown Whitis, Troy Whitis, Billy Whitis, Jerry Whitis, James Whitis and Avery Whitis; three sisters, Alene Courtney, Pat Courtney and Betty Williams; and his parents, Herman and Murrell Brown Whitis.
Rev. Barry Summerville and Rev. Ron Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Garden.
Pallbearers will be Terry Whitis, Mike Whitis, Mark Whitis, Greg Whitis, Scott Williams, Kevin Alton and Steve Courtney.
