Harriet Frances Crist was born to William Curtis Crist and Amanda Frances (Pipes). She went by the name Hattie.

Hattie married James A Harris on November 16, 1907 in Gilt Edge, Fergus Co., Montana. James was a Stage Coach driver.

Hattie married James Harris in Montana, where she had come for her health. She and Jim had been sweethearts from childhood. He persuaded her to marry and so allow him to take care of her. They had one child who was born too soon and did not live.

Funeral of James A. Harris.
James. A. Harris was buried Sunday at three o'clock in the Lewistown cemetery. A short service was held at the grave by Rev. J.F. Dimmick, who spoke briefly from Rev. 14:13. There were present at the funeral the wife of the deceased, two brothers and a large number of friends.
James A. Harris, son of Geo. R. and Eveline M Harris, was born August 9, 1879, in Missouri, and died June 3, 1910, at 3 p.m., at his ranch ten miles east of Lewistown, Mont. He was married to Miss Hattie F. Crist Nov. 16, 1907, at Gilt Edge, Mont. He leaves a companion, father and mother, who reside in Missouri; two sisters who live with their parents; two brothers, Neil, who is interested with Mr. Waite, of Lewistown, in a sheep ranch near Melstone, and William, who has been attending a medical school.
The deceased was well-known in Lewistown, having run the stage to Gilt Edge for several years. He came to the close of his life in perfect readiness and left a message which will be an endless comfort to those who mourn his departure. His last words were: "God is with us: there is nothing to fear."
