George Lorenzo Sprague Jr., 83, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Monday May 21, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday May 25, 2018 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church, 204 E Washington St, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.

George was born July 13, 1934 in Kansas City, KS, the son of George and Ruth (Richardson) Sprague. He worked many jobs over the years, a farmer, a carpenter, a salesman for the Standard Asbestos Company, and the County Commissioner of Leavenworth County. He was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church. He was united in marriage on June 13, 1953 in Edwardsville, KS to Cherrill Baugh, she survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his sister Juanita DeMaranville on January 15, 2018.

Survivors include; his wife, Cherrill Sprague, of the home; two sons, Mark Sprague, Leavenworth and Kevin Sprague, Tonganoxie; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Tonganoxie Christian Church.
