Billy Earl Jackson was born on Tuesday, February 9th, 1960, in Cherokee County, OK, the son of Isaac Johnathan and Sally (Ballard) Jackson. He joined a family of five brothers and two sisters, Richard Ballard, Judy Potter, Bob Ballard, James Ballard, Mitchell Ballard, Tommy Jackson and Linda Laporte. He attended school and then began his working career in the construction industry. He was the proud father of three daughters and one son, Mindy, Misty, and Vanessa. When he wasn’t working, you could find him listening to music, country, R&B, even a little rap, especially Shaggy. He played in a band in his younger days, and loved music, and going dancing on Saturday night. He spent hours on his muscle cars, especially his Dodge Charger, and loved any chance he got to make the engine stronger, faster, brighter. He liked to relax to a good movie or perhaps doing a little reading, keeping up with all the news. He was always ready to go to the flea markets and garage sales looking for the buy of the day. When the summer came, he was ready to go do a little fishing and maybe some camping. Billy was kind, considerate, and generous. He always thought more of others than himself, and shared whatever he had. He knew everyone, there were no strangers in Billy’s life. He could enjoy telling stories and sharing his day if you had the time. He loved his family, and gathering for a holiday was always special to Billy. He had recently become engaged to Gloria Fields Scoggins and was planning a wedding and a bright future. A Christian by faith, Billy was a Baptist. In spite of all he planned and wanted to accomplish, the Lord called this hard working man home from his labors on May 17th, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 58 years old. Billy leaves a void that can never be filled. Billy is preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Ice and Ina Jackson and his maternal grandparents, John and Bertha Ballard, his four brothers, Richard Ballard, Mitchell Ballard, Tommy Jackson, and Bob Ballard and his sister-in-law, Joyce Ballard. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Sally Ballard Hendricks of Tahlequah, OK, and three daughters, Mindy Adair and companion Nick Daugherty of Park Hill, OK, Misty Jackson of AL, and Vanessa Jones and husband Brandon of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves his two sisters and one brother, James Ballard of Tahlequah, OK, Judy Potter and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, OK, and Linda Laporte and husband Neil of Pryor, OK. Billy will live on in his 9 grandchildren, Aiden Jackson, Tony McKee Jr., Emily Rose McKee, Hanna Adair, Britney Adair, Madison Pritchett, Chloe Daugherty, Nicky Daugherty Jr., and Adalyn Jones. He leaves his fiancé, Gloria Fields Scoggins of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
