Canton – George E. Latham, 80, a former resident of Jay, passed away Friday, May 18th at Pinnacle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Canton. He was born May 9, 1938 in Jay, the son of George S. Latham and Evelyn P. (Spiller) Latham. He was a 1956 graduate of Jay High School.

Following graduation, George proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a life member of Amvets Post 33, Frank L. Mitchell V.F.W. Post 3335 and the George Bunton Post 10 American Legion.

George worked in the grocery industry for many years at Giguere's, Sampson's, and Hannaford, and later worked at McDonald's in Jay. George enjoyed going to dances and listening to music on Friday nights at the V.F.W.

He is survived by his brothers, Clarence Latham of North Turner and Lloyd Latham and his friend Deborah Tinker of Jay, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyn Latham, and sister-in-law, Linda Latham.
