Joseph F. Cicero of 14 Lake Street, Mount Morris formerly of Addison went home to the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He spent four days in Strong Memorial Hospital prior to his passing. He was born the son of Vito and Rose (Scaglione) Cicero on May 9, 1940. Prior to his retirement in 2001, Joe was a member of the faculty of Addison Central School for 41 and a half years where his kind, gentle, and generous spirit touched the lives of many adults and children alike. He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish where over the years he was a Eucharistic minister, reader and commentator at Mass. He also helped out at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation with Communion services for the residents.

Joe was quite active in the Kiwanis Clubs of both Addison and then Mt. Morris after his retirement serving in various offices of the group over the years. He always enjoyed people, his welcoming spirit of hospitality was experienced by many. Having friends in for a home cooked meal, traveling (especially to Italy), and reading were some of his hobbies. He was well loved by all whose lives he touched and will definitely leave an emptiness behind.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Maryann and Ronald Van Scoter of Arkport, many nephews and nieces whom he enjoyed watching grow up, an extended family of many cousins, and one special cousin, Ron Muchard, who was his exercise and coffee buddy. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Edward and many aunts and uncles.

Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Mt. Morris, N. Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Mt. Morris Kiwanis Club or St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
