FLEMING, Gregory Zane, 54, of Louisa County, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2018. He had battled cancer since October 2017. Greg committed to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with full support from his family by his side. Greg was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors. Yearly trips to Lake Kerr with his dad, brother and son were his favorite vacations. He enjoyed hunting season and watching the wildlife every evening in the back field. The simple country way of life was his preference. He spent many hours with his family boating on Lake Anna in the summers. Being a good husband, father and grandfather were his most important roles in life. He was there for his family, no matter what. Greg was employed as a Maintenance Business Unit Leader at Philip Morris USA in Richmond, Va., with 35-plus service years. He loved the maintenance team he worked with and had great respect for each of them. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Doris Beasley Fleming; his son, Matthew Castin Fleming; his daughter, Jessie Lyn Jones (Jonathan); three grandchildren, Rylee Marie Jones, Zane Robert Jones and Chad Easton Fleming; his parents, Elbert Fleming and Joyce Fleming; and his brother, Scott Fleming (Melanie); and nieces, Tyler and Peyton Fleming. A celebration of his life will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 4768 Shannon Hill Rd., Columbia, Va. 23038, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral will take place at this same location on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 2 p.m., with graveside services. Casual dress and jeans are what Greg liked best as attire, so please come as you are.
