Hans/Johann Adam Biebel Arrived in America 30 Nov 1750 on board the ship "Sandwich" which sailed from Rotterdam Holland. The Johann or Hans Adam Biebel who arrived in Philadelphia in 1750 on board the Sandwich was not born in Konigsbach but in Goersdorf in Alsace, the son of Hans George Biebel and of Maria Eve Burckhardt. He was married in the Lutheran Church at Preuschdorf on 19 Nov 1748, the eldest daughter of Otto Phillip Muller, the miller at the Gorschendorffer mill. The couple had one son born in Goersdorf in 1749 who died the same year. That this man is identical to the 1750 immigrant is proven be the fact that the signature in both the 1748 marriage record and the 1749 baptismal record matches that on the list of passengers on the Sandwich. He sailed on board the Sandwich captained by Mr Hazelwood from Rotterdam Holland along with 200 other passengers and arrived in the port of Philadelphia on 30 Nov 1750. Military Voucher records for Rockingham County Virginia for the year 1787 listed the following people as having made contributions to the war effort. Adam Bible, one tithable, sons John and Ludwick, seven horses, Adam Bible Jr, one tithable, three horses, George Bible, three horses, Philip Bible, two horses. They settled on Little Dry River in Brooks Gap, Rockingham Co Virginia. Johann Bible died in Rockingham County Virginia in late 1794 or early 1795. Johann Bieble/Bible and family were at Fort Hinkle during the American Revolutionary War. He is established with the Daughters of the American Revolution as a Patriot No record of where he is buried.
