Born in Spartanburg, SC on January 5, 1940, son of the late Richard Kermit and Elizabeth Rosemele (Roberts) Sloan; husband of the late Joyce Della (McMahan) Sloan.
Served in the United States Navy and worked as a cabinet builder.
Survived by his granddaughter, Tracy Renee Haddy Tomberlin (Lance) of Moore; one great granddaughter, Maggie Tomberlin; one sister, Billie Clark; and two nieces, Jessie Clark and Maggie Moore.
Predeceased by his daughter, Tracy Haddy.
