Jones, Sidney Francis Jr., 81, petroleum engineer, died May 15. Services 10 a.m. Saturday (Memorial Park, Oklahoma City).

He graduated from Classen High School, class of 1955, in Oklahoma City where he met his wife of 60 years Maryanne Pozaro Jones. Sid attended Oklahoma University where he received a degree in Petroleum Engineering and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering from Louisiana State University. He was a fraternity member of Lambda Chi Alpha at Oklahoma University. After being honorably discharged from the United States Navy, Sid went on to have a lengthy and successful career in the Oil and Gas Industry. He was registered as a professional engineer in Texas and Louisiana and was a 58-year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers until his passing.

Sid is survived by his loving and devoted family including his wife, Maryanne Pozaro Jones, and their three children: Mitzi Anne Hale and her husband Lloyd R. (Rick) Hale; Michael Frank Jones and his wife Donna E. Jones; and Marie Michelle Lang and her husband William (Bill) Lang. Sid left six grandchildren: Richard Coleman Hale, Brittany M. Fox, Bradley T. Benditz, Bridget G. Benditz, Jordan E. Jones and Jacob M. Jones.

He was a wonderful, kind and generous husband, father and grandfather who lived life with an exuberant happiness and joy. He cherished his friendship with his many pet dogs who were loving companions during his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time near the water, beaches and lakes where he loved swimming, fishing and boating. He also traveled the world with his wife and enjoyed playing bridge.

A private funeral and burial will be held on June 2, 2018 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Sid will be laid to rest in the family plot at the cemetery where his mother Helen Key Hann and his father Sidney Francis Jones are interred.
