Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Timmy Blair. Burial will follow in Johnson Family Cemetery, Angier, NC
Mr. Johnson was born November 11, 1935 in Harnett County to the late Bennett and Tenty Dupree Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Johnson Byrd; sisters, Mary J. Garner and Lena J. Byrd. Mr. Johnson was a retired farmer and member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years, Martha Garner Johnson; children and spouses, Lynn and Dewitt Hardee, Sheila and Mike Capps all of Benson and Jennifer and Joey Smith of Angier; son-in-law, Chris Byrd of Benson; grandchildren, Bradley Byrd and wife, Jamie, Brooke Byrd, Melanie Hardee, Jonathan Hardee, Sam Smith, Trevor Capps, Reece Capps and Abner Capps; great grandson, Rhett Byrd; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier, NC and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440 Piney Grove Rd. Angier, NC 27501.
