Charles A. Powers, born in Ozan, Arkansas on 19 December, 1924. He left this life due to ill health after a long hard fight on 9 May, 2018. Charles' positive attitude and courageous approach to life was both inspirational and admirable.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1944. During the European theater of World War II, he served in the Artillary Division. In Trieste, Italy, Charles met the love his life Miranda, and spent the next 69 years together. Continuing this career in the U.S. Army, resulted in two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic.

Charles' service to his country provided opportunity for his family to travel, both abroad and at home. After 22 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Army and was employed in the Civil Service. He worked at the Fort Lewis Logistic Center and at Gray Army Airfield.

Special thanks to the staff at American Lake VA Community Center for their support. Also, much appreciation to the Madigan Army Hospital staff.
