May 5, 1935, David A. “Scatter” Womack opened his eyes. On May 13, 2018, he closed them surrounded by his loving family as he hopped on the Angel wings flying away to his heavenly home. He was greeted by his Dad and Mom, Dewey Lee, Sr. and Rita Beagley Womack; brother, Dewey Lee Womack, Jr.; sister, Lois Womack Heavner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Lee Knobles Pichot; brothers-in-law, George H. Measley, L. C. Smith and son-in-law, Leslie Sallee.

David grew up in Pelly (now Baytown), Texas, being a 1954 graduate of Robert E. Lee, enlisting into the U. S. Marine Corps, proudly serving his country in Japan.He then joined Humble Oil and Refinery (now Exxon Mobil) marketing department, retiring in 1990 after 30 plus years, receiving numerous awards, Hobbs Night of the Road, 3 Million Mile Driver Accident Free, plus others. After retirement, he decided to move to the farm and try his hand at ranching and was very successful at that for over 20 years as well.

A very active member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, and a Life Member of the Marine Corps League, Detachment 1433 of Houston County.

Funeral services for David Womack, of Weldon, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Weldon Baptist Church.

Military graveside services will follow in the Weldon Cemetery.
