Virginia Ann Abamonte, of Henrietta, reunited with her husband on May 10, 2018, at the age of 78.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph and her brother, James Walker. She is survived by her children: Daniel (Virginia), Donald, Douglas, Gerard (Carrie) and Mark (Maria) Abamonte and Antoinette (Russell) Green; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Virginia was an avid reader, consuming at least two or three books a week and loved her puzzles. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She devoted almost 30 years to RIT serving thousands of students making sure no one went back to their dorm hungry. She was a New York City girl and would love to visit as much as possible. She became a die-hard New York Yankees fan traveling many times to Toronto, Canada and NYC to see them play. She was of Irish parents and loved collecting Irish mementos. When she got her Irish up her six children and her husband knew better than to get in the way. It was that fiery spirit that helped her raise six children and endeared her to many. She raised money for St. Jude and supported many local charities.
