Lois Marshall, 91, of 324 Second St., Hopedale, formerly of 802 Catherine St. and Pekin Estates, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Hopedale Hospital.

She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Pekin to Harry and Phoebe Eichelberger Marshall.

Surviving are one niece, Shirley (and Clinton) O'Bryant of Havana; and Leone Breese and Don and Jeanne Breese, all of Morton, who were caregivers.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

She assumed the duties of executive director of the YWCA in 1963, a position she held until retiring in 1977.

She helped conduct a survey which led to the establishment of the YWCA in Pekin. From 1926 through the 1940s, she continued working with the Girl Reserves and also was a volunteer at the YWCA. She was hired as a part-time program director of the YWCA in 1949 and later became the full-time youth director and then full-time Y-teen director.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
