Obituary

Royce (Jack) N. Hendon, 89, passed away May 11, 2010 at a local hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born October 30, 1920 in Knox City, Texas to William Thomas and Iris (Winn) Hendon, who preceded him in death.

He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was awarded two Bronze Stars. He also enjoyed a long career as a lineman and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He has resided in Colorado Springs with his wife, Lucille since 1980.

Royce (Jack) is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister Lynn, Pete, Tobe and Louise. Also preceding him are brothers in law Bill and Gene Rasser.

Royce (Jack) is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille (Rasser) Hendon; daughter, Barbara Frey; son-in-law, Doug Frey; son, Randy Hendon and grandson, Steven Ross Frey. Also surviving are sisters, Birdie and Frances, and one brother Gene. Jack is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pastor Keith Knoff will officiate. Private internment will take place.
