MRS JANE HERRELL DIES THURSDAY NIGHT
LAST RITES SUNDAY
MIAMI, Ind. Feb. 12 -- Mrs. Jane Harrell, age 80, died at her home in Miami last night at ten o'clock after an illness of five weeks. Death was caused by complications.
Mrs. Harrell was widely known in the community, having been born and reared here.
She was the daughter of William and Katherine Hicks and the last survivor of eleven children.
She was married October 19, 1871 to Calvin Herrell who died some time ago.
She had been a member of the Miami M.E. church since 1883.
Surviving include four children, Rue, Blaine and Oscar, all of Miami, and Mrs. Bertha Turner of Hammond. Another daughter, Mrs. Dolly Shue died several years ago.
Surviving also are seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Herrell held membership in the Methodist church in Miami since 1883.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Wesleyan Methodist church with the Rev. C. C. Fields officiating. Burial follow in the Miami cemetery. The body was returned to the home Saturday from the Wayne Ladd mortuary.
