Private John Cain aka Kane served during the Civil War in Company B, 69th Pennsylvania Infantry. He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg during the repulse of Pickett's Charge on July 3rd, 1863. He was at the wall in front of the copse of trees in the center of the Union line. He was discharged Dec 30th, 1864 for wounds received at Cold Harbor, Va. on Jun 5th, 1864.
