He married Margaret Ann Anderson in Desoto, Mississippi in 1869. They moved to Hunt Co., Texas about 1875. Nineteen years later they moved to Choctaw Nation (Oklahoma) expecting to attain citizenship in the Choctaw tribe. He was turned down by the U.S Government, and they returned to Texas before the 1910 census. Fourteen children were born to him and Margaret--seven girls and seven boys. His wife died in 1924 and is buried in Newcastle, Young co., Texas, and he is buried near one of his sons, Thomas Miller.
The 1910 census says that Benjamin Miller was a Confederate Army survivor.
