Harold Stevenson
Harold L. "Tiny" Stevenson, 73, of Water Street, Chicora, died at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his son, Jay, in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County.
Born in Claytonia, Feb. 25, 1934, he was a son of Paul Forrest Stevenson and Mary Walls Stevenson.
He had attended the East Brady schools. He served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and attained the rank of airman first class.
Mr. Stevenson enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, attending Lernerville Speedway, spending time with his grandchildren and fishing on the Allegheny River in his son's boat.
He had worked at the Logan Clay Co. in Craigsville, Black Fox Mining in Karns City, and Pullman Standard in Butler. He was a well-known school bus driver for the Bauman Bus Lines in Karns City.
Surviving are his wife, Ann B. Adams Stevenson, whom he married Oct. 8, 1960; two sons, Jay Allen Stevenson and his wife, Amy, of Bradys Bend and Dewayne Harold Stevenson and his wife, Terri, of Chicora; six grandchildren, Ryan Smith and Jamie and Justin Stevenson, all of East Brady, and Lori Daugherty and Kimberly and Brian Stevenson, all of Chicora; and two great-grandchildren, Braden Stevenson and Skylar Murray, both of East Brady.
He also is survived by a brother, James Eugene Stevenson of Punxsutawney; four sisters, Betty Ballard and her husband, Red, of Soap Lake, Wash., Kaye Johns and her husband, Terry, of Kittanning, Paulette Houser and her husband, Mike, of Mayport and Dollie Irvine of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, William Harvey Stevenson, died April 15, 1992.
STEVENSON - Friends of Harold L. "Tiny' Stevenson, who died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Pendley, pastor of the Countryside Baptist Church of Frostburg, officiating. Burial will follow at the Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Chicora American Legion and VFW Ceremonial Squad.
Memorial donations may be given to the family.
