Alice Margaret DeVane King left a Will. I am working from the transcript which appears to have some typing errors. Since the transcript is erroneous (having her born years after her father’s death) the birth date is approximate and based on her sisters birthdates which we know are correct.
The Will was a verbal one given on17 July 1940 at the home of Miss Alice M. DeVane King #22 Heidelberg, Klingentich Germany in the presence of Dr. N.D. Albert Weiss, practitioner in Heidelberg, Alfriede Balsgber, employee at Klingenteich #22 and Magdalen Borch, born Winter, wife of Alois Borch, Klingenteich #14.
The Will was given to the American Consulate at Stuttgart
In the Will she states that she is the last daughter of of my family William T. King and mother, Evelyn H. King born Collier of Dallas Co., AL , United States. She states that she and her mother left America because of family hard feelings (pg. 118 Wm. R. King and His Kin. Henry P. Johnston, Sr. Featon Press. AL 1975).
