Copied from Thomas DeVane Bible - housed at Archives and History, Montgomery, Alabama:
"Married on the 24th of June A.D.1856, at Tuscolossa, Alabama, William Thomas King to Evelyn Hewett Collier.".

Since Thomas Devane King (1779-1854)was the only son of William (1755-1816) and Margaret Devane King to have a son, the King name ended for this line of Kings when William Thomas King (1829-1862) was killed at the Battle of Manassas in Virginia - 1862 . He had 4 daughters:
1. Evelyn Ann King (died in infancy)
2. Margaret Ellis King (died infancy)
3. Mary Evelyn King
4. Alice Margaret DeVane King.
Two died in infancy.
Dallas Co., AL Abstract of Minutes of Probate Court Vol.3 pg.600-605 Aug. 13, 1865-July 22, 1867 "...Estate of William T. King. Thomas J. Portis, Administrator. King intermarried with Evelyn H. Collier in the 1850's
And lived with her until about Aug or Sept 1862, when he died, leaving Evelyn, his widow, and two children, Mary Evelyn and Alice Margaret King, both under 14. He died intestate.
His widow died while in Germany.
William Thomas King(1829-1862) had only one sister:
Margaret William King (1830-1904) # 68711153 who married Dr. William Augustine Jones, Sr.(1824-1866). She is buried with her son Wm. A. Jones, Jr. # 130798268.

"According to the Alabama Civil War Service Database of the Alabama Department of Archives and History, William was a captain in Company D of the 44th Alabama Regiment at the time of his death."
