Phillip Boronda, mentioned last week in these columns as having been killed in action in France, was born in King City in 1893 and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton M Boronda, now reside at their ranch home on the Jolon road. They have another son, Michael, in the service on the Mexican border. Both sons enlisted at the same time.
Phillip Boronda was a son to be proud of — big and strong, a great help to his father on the farm and a clean-living, likeable young fellow. He had never been away from home until he answered his country's call. King City is proud of this native son who gave his all for us at home, and she grieves with his stricken parents that it had to be.
