Born April 2, 1943, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late James Monroe Miller and Nellie Eva Fulbright Miller.
Eddy was a lifelong member of Mt. View United Methodist Church in Claremont. Following high school, he worked at Duke Power, then Standard Sales, as a delivery and appliance repairman, and retired as a supervisor from Carolina Mills. After retirement, he worked part time at Jim's Used Cars & Parts. He enjoyed NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Miller and David Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Pope Miller of the home; sons, Darin T. Miller of Hickory, Dwayne E. Miller and wife, Mercy of Hickory; brother, Morris Miller of Claremont; sister, Helen Herman of Claremont; grandchildren, Tony W. Miller, Cynthia Miller and fiancé, Randy Vasquez; and great-grandchildren, Summer Brooks, Karmyne Vasquez and Jeremiah Vasquez.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at Mt. View United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rich Irwin officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening (Tuesday, May 1). at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
