Thomas Scriven was listed in the 1770 Tax list of Bladen Co. If you had to be 21 yrs of age to pay taxes, he could have been born as early as 1749. When he served in the Militia, he would have been 32 years old and 49 yrs of age when Thomas, Jr. was born. He was living in 1800 census with children and grandchildren.

5. Thomas Scriven,Jr. (1798 - 1847) m. Abigail
6.James Scriven (info from John's Will)
7.. John Scriven ( )John evidently never married. Left Will pg. 345 Will Bk 1 or 2 Bladen Co NC written Nov 1822; also pg.76 Abstract of Wills by W. Campbell. He names brothers & husbands of his sisters.

In Deed Bk 37 p. 414, Nancy Ann Scriven Allen wife of Ephraim Allen sold their lot #2 to John Scriven which was formerly the property of Thos. Screvin Dec'd divided amongst his heirs at which division lot #2 fell to Ephraim Allen & Nancy his wife.

Thomas Scriven is listed in the 1781 Tax List of Bladen Co., NC which was an exemption from paying specifie tax for the year 1781 because these persons had become insolvent from supporting the War efforts in Bladen County.
