BALL, Dorothy A. (Sams), 89, passed away on August 16th at University Hospital, unexpectedly and after a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Homer Ball. She is also survived by her loving son Raymond and his wife Laurie and her cherished granddaughter, Emily, all of Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was born in Livingston, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Robert and the late Delia Sams. She moved to Cincinnati as a young adult and during WWII, she worked at Union Terminal supporting the war effort and was then happy to be a homemaker in their home of 57 years in Mount Healthy. Dorothy loved tending to her garden, sitting outside in the fresh air, visiting with the children who played on the street and making chili for Emily when she came to visit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
