KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mr. Elvin "Red" Brown, 87, of White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was the son of the late Jasper Cary and Annie Elizabeth Davis Brown. A member of First Wesleyan Church, he had 34 years of perfect attendance. He was a former employee of Sadie Mills and retired from Burlington Mills in Kings Mountain, where he was supervisor for 35 years. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Otis Green Post and Shelby Moose Lodge. He loved to ride motorcycles and also loved walking, camping, dancing, laughing and just having a good time.
In addition to his parents, his first wife, Margie Gladden Brown, and second wife, Ellease Ford Brown, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Brown and wife, Cindy, of Kings Mountain and Elvin "Brod" Brown and wife, Dolores, of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; two daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Hill and husband, J.C., and Janice "Jan" Deaton and husband, Clarence, all of Kings Mountain; a sister, Effie Thigpen of Gastonia; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
