Corning | Beatrice F. Church, age 79, of Corning, NY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Bea was born September 28, 1935, in Corning, NY, to the late, Albert and Flossie (Haight) Crisco.
She married Gordon Earl Church on November 28, 1954 in Corning. She was predeceased by Gordon on December 13, 1987.
Throughout the years, Bea touched many lives, through her love of cooking, by managing the Corning Bowl lunch counter, as well as, her many parties and family gatherings. Bea coached Cinderella Softball and was very active in the local bowling leagues. Bea enjoyed yard sales and working in her flower garden, having a great love of flowers and hummingbirds. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed family holiday get-togethers. Bea was a very happy, loving and giving person to her family, as well as all those she met in her life.
Bea worked for the Corning Radisson Hotel as a hotel receptionist, retiring in 1997, after several years of dedicated service.
Besides her parents and husband, Bea was predeceased by her sisters, Carol Jean Rumsey and Alberta Elliott.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Addison Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chemung County Humane Society, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
For those of you who would like to join the family in a celebration of life for Bea, there will be a reception at the Marconi Lodge in Corning, NY from 3:00 – 5:00pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014.
