Harold Wardwin Frazier
Harold W. Frazier was born on August 25, 1926 in Martin, SD to Robert Frazier, Sr. and Lena Conroy. Harold passed away on April 17, 2018 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin, SD.

Harold enlisted in the United States Navy starting at the very young age of 17; he was schooled on Pine Ridge at a rural school house with five other students and he ended up on a Naval Ship with over 5000 Servicmen. During Harold’s first enlistment, Harold was discharged after two years and 10 days of service, he re-enlisted while staying in Wyoming and then served into his late 20’s. Harold always regretted not remaining a part of the military. He sailed on four different ships during his time in the Nave; the most memorable was the USS Kearsarge (CVA33). The Kearsarge was an aircraft carrier that was launched at the end of WWII and later designated as an attack carrier. Harold recalled the war quite often, especially Pearl Harbor; but he also carried with him many stories that he experienced while he was in the Navy.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War; he admittedly said, β€œI have seen a lot of country and different islands, from Pearl Harbor, Australia, and Okinawa, but I am thankful to be home.” Harold will be greatly missed by all his family and everyone who knew him.

Harold is survived by his sister, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Frazier, Sr. and Lena Conroy; sisters, Vivian Frazier, Victoria Frazier, and Jewel Frazier; and brothers, Robert Frazier and Lloyd Frazier.
