She was born March 14, 1921, to Israel Shirk and Anna Sauder in Lancaster County PA.
She was a dietary supervisor at Mount San Antonio Gardens in Claremont for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob Hoover of Twentynine Palms; three daughters, Lucy Wingerd of Westminster, Alma Stuter of Wrightwood and Edna Hoover of Aurora, Colo.; her son, John Hoover of Garden Grove; two brothers, Elam Shirk of Lititz, PA and Weaver Shirk of Groffdale, PA; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 1:30 PM Sunday at Desert Congregational Church in Twentynine Palms.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Mortuary of Desert Hot Springs.
The family suggests that donations be made to the building fund of Desert Congregational Church in Twentynine Palms.
