James H. Heston, Sr. 83, formerly of Belvue, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Thornton Place in Topeka.
Jim was born December 15, 1934 in rural Emmett, to Albert Heston Sr. and Pauline (Day) Heston.
He attended Emmett and St. Marys Schools, graduating from St. Marys High School.
On February 21, 1955 he married Barbara Ann Herneisen. They divorced in 1981. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Devra; siblings, Albert Jr., Ronald and Bessie Mae Baker.
Jim worked for Peddicord Feed Lot and the Farmers Union Co-op at St. Marys until his retirement in 1996. He later worked part time for R&W Milling in Wamego until he fully retired. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. Jim was an Avid Kansas Jayhawk fan.
He is survived by his three children, Jim Jr. (Brenda), Wamego, Ronnie (Karen), Miller, and Patty Sutton, Eudora; his sisters, Phyllis Davis, St. Marys, Almira Catron, Topeka and Lynda Hill, Emmett; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Polly’s Creek Cemetery, Belvue. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
