Harry Lewis Sloane, 73, died Monday night in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem.

He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired employee of the Roanoke City Schools.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Ferris Sloane, Copper Hill; three daughters and one son-in-law, Helen Keyton and Becky Sloane, both of Copper Hill; Betty and Harold Boitnott, Boones Mill; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Raymond and Sandra Marie Sloane, Richard Sloane, all of Copper Hill; Curtis and Pat Sloane of Moneta; six grandchildren, Sandra Mangell, Wayne and Michael Keyton, Gail and Sam Boitnott and Anna Marie Sloan; two sisters, Susie Matheny, Callaway; Lula Hardin of Bland; two brothers, John Sloane, Callaway, Will Sloane of Roanoke.

Funeral will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd, with the Rev. Frank Wimmer officiating with interment in the Salem Church Cemetery (Head of the River). The family will receive friends 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd.
