Funeral services for George M. Wright, 75, a former resident of Davenport, will be held in the Runge chapel Wednesday at 3 p.m. with burial in the Blue Grass cemetery.
Mr. Wright died at 3 a.m. Monday in the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew M. Wright of near LeClaire. He had been ill for three weeks.
A native of Woodstock, Va., he was born July 23, 1878, and married Clara M. Henry at Minnewauken, N.D., Nov. 9, 1906. They resided there for five years and then returned to Virginia for eight years. In 1918 the couple came to Davenport where Mr. Wright was employed as a street car operator by the Tri-City Railway Co. for 19 years. Later he engaged in farming near Blue Grass for 14 years.
Since the death of his wife on June 10, 1948, he had been making his home with his children.
Survivors include four sons, Andrew M. and James W. of LeClaire, Howard C. of Davenport, and George C. Wright, Moline; three daughters, Mrs. Harold d'Autremont, Davenport, Mrs. Rudolph Rodo, Joy, Ill., and Mrs. Harold Grant, Rock Island, and 10 grandchildren.
