Eleanore M. Age 90, formerly of Schuyler Ave. in Elmira, NY, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004, at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Eleanore was born July 21, 1914 in Elmira, daughter of Manning and Anna Rhoades Roll. She became the wife of Glenn H. Root November 14, 1933, he predeceased her in September of 1995. She was retired from the Dental office of Dr. Baker in Elmira, where she had been employed as a dental assistant. She had been very active in the Lake St. Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon.
Eleanore was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; and sister, Rowena Pearl Roll Pierce in 1994. Friends are invited to call at Ballard & Lindgren Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home following the visitation (5 p.m.). The interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Aunt Eleanore For someone who's not a mother You've been especially Dear to me. You've listened, consoled and carried Every burden you could see. You Loved me, played with me Read to me too. You've laughed with me Cried with me -- Even made apple pies with me. Then when I left to be a mother myself, You cradled my children In your loving arms Kissed bruises, rode bikes, Sang of Barney Googles charms. No one ever gave so much love To receive so little in return. I want you to know, before I Sing your praises in Heaven that This old Earth wouldn't be the same Without you and when I run away to Heaven, I'm going to ask God if I can sit down beside Aunt Eleanore. Love, Shirley
