Herbert Ray Taylor, age 75, of Montgomery, Alabama died peacefully on Sunday April 15, 2018. Herbert was born January 6, 1943 to Amie Reeves and Richard David Taylor Sr. Herb was preceded in death by; his parents; his sister Ruby Nell Evans; his step-father Melvin Reeves, and his brother Richard David Taylor Jr.

Herb is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet Taylor; daughter Beth (Phillip) Nicholson; daughter Angie (Chuck) Head; brothers Eddie (Zoey) Taylor, Donnie (Margaret) Taylor and Ronnie (Janice) Taylor; grandson Taylor Nicholson, friend of family- Melissa Nestor, granddaughter Elizabeth Nicholson, grandsons Willliam Nicholson and CJ (Jessi) Head, granddaughter Sara Grace (Andrew) Ward and great grandchild Kaylee Rae Head and many loving nieces and nephews.

Herb was an avid golfer and his love of the game included making custom clubs and repair work. He was a PGA teaching professional and a scratch golfer.

A visitation for Herb will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM within the chapel. A committal will follow at Berea Cemetery in Highland Home, AL.

Pallbearers will include: William (CJ) Head, Taylor Nicholson, William Nicholson, Andrew Ward, Mike Taylor, Dexter Taylor and Gene Taylor.
