Alice Jo Hilliary passed away April 7, 2018 She was 86 years old.
Alice Jo Hilliary "Jo" was born in Medicine Park, OK on March 16, 1932, the daughter of Alice Tidmore and Albert Henry Tidmore. She met and married Edward A. Hilliary Jr. "Junior' on March 18, 1950.
Jo lived a rich and full life of service to her faith, family and others. She loved sharing her faith with others and taught Sunday school for 30 years at the Medicine Park Baptist Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and very much enjoyed fellowship and friendship with others.
She was generous with her time and the fruits of her success. Helping children was always close to her heart. Many years ago, when her church began attending Falls Creek, she stepped forward to purchase a cabin for her church in the hope that more children come to know the Lord.
She instilled in each of her children and grandchildren a love of community, a generous spirit, and an entrepreneurial drive.
Jo and Junior led a full life, that included several successful business ventures, but most remember her for Medicine Park Telephone and Park Propane. Her leadership and vision for the companies was recognized last year when she was inducted into the Oklahoma Telephone Association Hall of Fame. Jo and Junior owned numerous businesses in the Medicine Park area over the years, including gas stations, a laundromat, the water system, the propane company, the telephone and cable company, and numerous land development projects, to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husband Edward A. Hilliary. Jr., son Stephen Louis, brother Leon, and daughter-in-law Debi Gail.
Funeral services will be held at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home, on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Burial services will be in Lawton at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
