Merrill Andrew Chambers Jr.

Merrill Andrew Chambers, Jr., 67, of rural Bellefonte and formerly of Moshannon passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Bellefonte on Nov. 13, 1950 a son of the late Merrill A. Sr. and Leona Thompson Chambers.

Merrill was employed with Allied Electrical and Mechanical for 26 years, retiring in 2012. He was a graduate of Bald Eagle Area H.S. class of 1968. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. Merrill was an avid hunter and particularly enjoyed the challenges of hunting game in very remote locations. He was a member of the Moshannon United Methodist Church, Union Grange where he served as a Past Master, the American Legion, and the Clarence Moose.
His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his time every year at Grange Fair.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda McCloskey.
He is survived by his current wife, Also surviving are a son, 2 step-sons,daughter, step-daughter , two brothers. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by a brother, David, and sister, Judy Cramer, and his son Scott A. Chambers.

Funeral services will be held at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 Sycamore St., Snow Shoe on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Cathy Dittman officiating. Friends will be received on Monday the 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral home.

Burial will be at Askey Cemetery with military honors.
